History - How It All Began
During the 1980's James Corbett owned and operated two large marble & granite processing companies in Australia, employing 80 workers. During the course of operating these businesses, James Corbett developed a lifting clamp for lifting marble and granite, which he was able to patent in early 1995. After initially commencing manufacturing in Australia, in 1992 James Corbett established a business in Vietnam in his own right to manufacture and produce his invented Slab Lifting Clamps. Although the Aardwolf Slab Lifting Clamps have been the backbone of James's business, his company now produces a wide range of material handling and lifting equipment, which incudes but not limited to the following: - Rock Lifters, Brick Lifters, Pipe Lifters, Glass Lifters, Forklift Accessories, Transport Frames, Masonry Saws, and many types of Vacuum Lifters.
1989
The Aardwolf Lifter was invented and developed by James Edmund Corbett in 1989 to solve problems and his own stone masonry business. The lifter was trialled for a few years James’s business and gradually improved. The photograph shows an early prototype from this period.
Early 1995
The photograph below shows a production prototype Aardwolf slab lifting clamp at about the time James filed his pattern application. This design was sold by the company Herdgraph Pty Limited, a company solely owned by James Corbett.
Late 1995
The photograph below shows a further improved Aardwolf slab lifting clamp in late 1995 lifting a 50 mm thick slab of sandstone weighing about 500kg. This version was produced and manufactured in Australia.
2002
The photograph below shows the full range of Aardwolf Lifters being produced in 2002 and sold worldwide under the trademark Aardwolf.
TODAY
The photograph below shows the full range of Aardwolf slab lifting clamps including the wide jaw slab lifting clamps. Aardwolf continues to improved its products to ensure quality, efficiency and safety. Aardwolf endeavour to remain at the forefront of the material handling industry worldwide.
